Adobe launches Photoshop Camera: its own photo filter app on iOS and Android

Unveiled last year at the Adobe MAX conference, Photoshop Camera is now officially launched on the Google Play Store and the App Store. A photo filter app that, believe it or not, was missing from the publisher’s catalog on smartphones.

But if the new application has the name and fame of Photoshop on its shoulders, it has little to do with the handy program of the editor. See it as a competitor to the Visual Supply Company VSCO application.

Ready-to-use filters

On the page dedicated to Photoshop Camera, Adobe goes straight to the point and offers you to “  navigate between lenses and effects of intagrammable cameras to apply before or after the triggering of the device  ”. You will understand: Photoshop Camera is primarily for those who want to touch up a photo very quickly before posting it on social networks

In addition to an astronomical amount of photographic filters, Photoshop Camera also allows you to edit the background of photos to create even more personalized visuals. A gallery is also in the spotlight and allows you to collect, for free, filters and effects signed by artists. For the launch, it is notably the superstar Billie Eilish who is honored.

More basic, Photoshop Camera also offers basic settings such as exposure, contrast or saturation of photos. Once the application is connected to Lightroom Mobile, the photos can be exported easily to push the development of the photos further. But unlike the latter, Photoshop Camera does not seem to be able to take photos in RAW format, much more permissive for post-processing.
